07 Apr McAllen Hotel Thanks Long Term Guests Village Travel
Home2 Suites by Hilton recently recognized charter company Village Travel, whose drivers have been long-term visitors at the hotel since July 2020. For the last eight months, the Village Travel team has worked day in and day out to transport traveling nurses to local hospitals throughout Hidalgo County during the COVID pandemic.
Lead driver Paul Cummings marked 365 days of working throughout the pandemic on March 28. Cummings was first assigned to help with the outbreak in New York then was later assigned to work in Texas, having spent only one night at home in the last year.
Cummings and his crew work seven days a week, through holidays and special occasions to do their part in a time of need. In a show of appreciation, Home2 Suites’ Director of Sales Yolanda Garcia coordinated a congratulatory ceremony for the nineteen Village Travel staff at their home away from home.
“Heroes do not have the need to be known as heroes,” said Garcia. “They just do what they do because it’s the right thing, and it needs to be done.”
On behalf of the Visit McAllen team, we would like to thank the Village Travel crew for their assistance and dedication to aiding our community in the last eight months, and for being valued visitors in our city.
