A tree lighting ceremony, indoor ice skating, train rides around the park, holiday performances and of course the largest illuminated parade in Texas! McAllen’s festive holiday events offer entertainment for whole family!

As you get ready to Light up the season with McAllen’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony stop by Reserva Coffee Roasters for some Chocolate Caliente for the kids and a hand-crafted coffee for Mom & Dad. Watch as this 64’ tree comes to life with thousands of twinkling lights and holiday cheer. At the same time, McAllen’s newest holiday addition, Santa’s Circle Illuminated Park also celebrates the most wonderful time of year with light displays that include Santa’s Castle and penguins around the park.

 

Now officially the South Pole of Texas, McAllen celebrates the holidays with FRIO! 40 days of fun and festivities that include Gingerbread Land, Piguino Plunge, indoor ice skating, and snowman making, and of course, no holiday tradition would be complete without pictures with Santa!

 

Before you settle into the watch the parade check-out Christmas in the Park. Listen to live music, find the perfect holiday gift at one of the many craft vendors, and load up on some of the delicious food from more than 30 different types of food vendors. And here’s Pro-Tip to make your experience more convenient – use the Park & Ride service located on Pecan Boulevard. Park your car & catch the bus over to the parade route. The award-winning McAllen Holiday Parade is the largest illuminated parade in Texas! With dozens of giant helium balloons and a plethora of celebrities this parade is sure to instill the holiday spirit in the young and the young at heart.
